Perspectives offers specialized residential services in dedicated Deaf-centric homes that provide a fully accessible environment to the people who live there.
Perspectives has homes that offer 24/7 services to the people we support in a linguistically and culturally accessible manner. Our homes are staffed by people who are fluent in ASL or in the process of learning the language. Our goal is to provide individualized and appropriate communication access to all the people we support. All DHOH employees go through ongoing training specific to this program to allow them to grow and enhance their skills working with this population. Our residential services provide the people we support with the ability to communicate with their team directly in ASL, along with visual and tactile communication. Residents and employees have access to in-depth interpreting services as needed. Many members of our professional team are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, and all are fluent in ASL.
