OVERVIEW

General Position Description:

Responsible for supervising the work of Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and ensuring that agency policies and procedures are upheld and that the individuals served live valued and high-quality lives.

Broad Areas of Responsibility:

Participating in agency activities, serving on committees, and communicating the agency’s values and principles to others; supervising the work of DSP while on shift; providing program-specific training to new employees; valuing the skills and input of co-workers; personal care supports, community integration, recreational, educational and social skills supports; vocational supports; environmental maintenance and safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in providing direct support to recipients of community human services.
• Demonstrates excellence in providing Direct Support to individuals served.
• Good computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and insured vehicle.
• Demonstrates necessary American Sign Language (ASL) skills, cultural sensitivity and awareness

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• An Associate Degree or certificate in a human services field or related experience.
• Supervisory experience or Management training.
• Three years of direct support experience in community human services.
