OVERVIEW
A DSP in the Advisor Model is hired directly by the person they work with. Individuals are our employers; you work for them. Individuals supported in the Advisor Model are not part of our Day Programs. They manage their own supports.
As a DSP, you will be responsible for providing assistance in completing daily living activities to people with developmental disabilities through direct support and teaching skills to increase competencies in areas such as:
- Employment support
- Personal care supports
- Community integration
- Recreation
- Education
- Social skills supports
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
To become a Direct Support Professional, you’ll need:
- A favorable background check
- A safe driving record
- Access to an insured vehicle
- A High School Diploma/GED equivalent
