Perspectives Corporation is now hiring an ASL Interpreter Coordinator to work in our Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Services department.

$1,500 Sign-On Bonus and $2,500 Relocation Assistance!


OVERVIEW


Responsibilities:

Coordination of ASL Interpreter schedules using several software platforms, providing optimal supports for both consumers and interpreters, both internal and external. This includes processing interpreter requests, managing the weekly schedule and coordinating interpreter/requestor availability, being available for communication with employees, interpreters and external requestors, and processing invoices of contracted interpreters. Knowledgeable about Deaf culture; exhibits superior organizational and communication skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS


Minimal Qualifications

  • Possess the interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively and diplomatically with employees, customers, interpreters, individuals supported and the public
  • Effective problem-solving skills, especially in a fast-paced environment along with flexibility
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking in practical problems associated with scheduling assignments and the delivery of interpreting services
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and possesses knowledge of variety of communication modalities
  • Must have a working knowledge of the interpreter Code of Professional Conduct or willingness to learn; willingness to show strong understanding of Deaf culture and communication access; sensitivity to the needs and rights of consumers
  • Prioritization & Organization skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word and the Google Suite platform – specifically, Calendar and Drive
  • Basic supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of technology, email, smart phone, etc.
