Support Specialist

Information Technology (IT)

Perspectives Corporation is now hiring a Support Specialist to work in our Information Technology (IT) department.


OVERVIEW


Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing support to the Information Technology Department (250+ computers) by supporting users and technology equipment throughout the agency (sites range from North Smithfield to Westerly).

Providing comprehensive and reliable assistance to all computer and network users; under direct supervision maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals; documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems; supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups; assisting with implementation of new systems, software and hardware.

JOB REQUIREMENTS


Minimal Qualifications

  • 2 Years of experience in providing computer support
  • Strong computer skills including installation, configuration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Help desk experience providing users with telephone, remote and on-site technical support
  • Management and Tracking of Hardware/Software Inventory
  • Experience with writing User Documentation/Instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Good time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle
  • Must have reliable transportation

Desired Qualifications

  • One year of experience in providing computer support
  • Strong computer skills including installation, configuration and troubleshooting experience with:
    • Operating Systems:
      • Microsoft Windows 10/11 / Server 2019
      • VMware / Sonicwall / Barracuda
    • Technology Equipment / Hardware:
      • Client Server Domain environment
      • Sonicwall Firewall / VPN
      • Dell / Lenovo Desktop & Laptop Computers
      • Ruckus / Ubiquiti Access Points
      • Printers / Fax machines / Scanners / Projectors
    • Software:
      • Microsoft Office – All versions
      • Symantec End-Point Management Console
  • Help desk experience providing users with telephone, remote and on-site technical support
  • Management and Tracking of Hardware/Software Inventory
  • Experience with writing User Documentation/Instructions

Education

  • 4 year college degree or 2 year degree or certificate in computer technology or related field
  • 2 years of computer support experience
