Personal Assistance Services & Supports
Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services
Personal Assistance Services & Supports (PASS) are for eligible children who live at home and have a medical or behavioral health diagnosis that needs extra support in the home and/or out in the community. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing PASS team specializes in providing services in a fully accessible way that meets the language needs of the family.
Support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children
Perspectives' Personal Assistance Services and Supports (PASS) program is a specialized service led by parents for children who are eligible for Medicaid and require less clinical supports than the HBTS program but still would benefit from support participating in their community.
In the Deaf and Hard of Hearing PASS program, the family takes the lead on recruiting, training, managing, and supervising their PASS workers. Perspectives will support the family as needed in all of the above areas, including assistance with identifying staff who meet the language needs of the family.
Both the family and the PASS team will develop the care plan, which focuses on skillbuilding in both home and community settings. These can include daily living skills, community safety, participating in community activities, and other activities designed to promote independence and self-determination.
The PASS Team
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing PASS team is made up of a clinical consultant and a PASS coordinator, both with experience working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Your team will help make sure the PASS plan meets your child’s evolving needs as they move towards independence.
