AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER


Perspectives Corporation has part time positions for ASL Interpreters to join our agency to effectively interpret between American Sign Language and spoken English for meetings, trainings and discussion groups.


REQUIREMENTS


Successful candidates must be energetic self-starters with well developed interpersonal and communication skills. Additionally, the ASL Interpreter must display the ability to thrive in a challenging and creative working environment.

Candidate(s) must have a strong understanding of ASL and Deaf culture. BA/BS Degree in Interpreting, Linguistics, Deaf Studies, Psychology, Sociology or related field preferred. Must have a minimum of a HS diploma or equivalent and 3 consistent years working as a sign language interpreter.

Candidate(s) must hold a certificate (NIC, CT/CI, NAD 4/5) from the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. or other equivalent interpreter certification; must also have a certified license issued by the RI Board of Examiners for the Deaf thru RI Department of Health and must maintain such certifications as a condition of employment.

This position requires the ability to travel to all agency locations.
