5th Year In a Row
Most proud of..."Our Online Training System ... allows employees to complete their annually required training independently, self-initiated, conveniently and efficiently." - Amy Vine, Training and Project Coordinator -

Since 1977, North Kingstown's Perspectives Corp. has been providing residential and vocational services to adults and youth who suffer from various mental, physical and developmental disabilities.

While the company's purpose is to provide support for its clients, it is also committed to its employees, as evidenced by the firm's selection as one of the best places to work in Rhode Island for the fifth consecutive year. The firm is one of six companies to be included on the list for all five years of Providence Business News' Best Places to Work program.

Perspectives Corp. employs a diverse work force from a wide range of ages, cultures, and languages, as well as some of the clients from its Adult Day/Residential Services programs. To expand the skills of employees, American Sign Language training for levels I, II and Conversational is offered at no charge to employees. Additionally, full-time employees who complete job-related courses can also receive tuition reimbursement from Perspectives.

"Our work environment is fun as well as challenging," said Amy Vine, training and project coordinator for the company. "We feel we have created an outstanding training program so that employees have the tools and knowledge they need to succeed and a generous benefits package so they feel rewarded for a job well-done."

The human-services provider requires that all program managers and administrators have management plans for public recognition of employees.
