The day was perfect for our 5th Annual Memorial 5k Road Race and 1 mile Fun Walk.

Well over 100 runners and walkers participated in the event on Sunday. We also received over $900 in donations and sponsorship this year from the following: Brendan Doyle, the overall first place male, who donated his race prize back to the fund, Brenda Bjorklund, Northup’s Service Center, Engineered Security Systems, Ocean Pharmacy, Infinity Graphics and Mulzers.

The goal of this race continues to be to remember the people that the agency has supported who have passed away in our care and raise money for a memorial fund to assist with burial expenses. Our event has provided the Ocean State Senior Olympics athletes the opportunity to qualify for their National games. In addition, this event invites the community to compete and connect with our agency. Many of the participants have run the race for the last 5 years.

This year many of our employees, people we support and spouses, sisters, brothers-in-law, mothers, fathers, mothers-in-law and friends of Perspectives ran in the race. The entire list of results can also be seen on www.coolrunning.com. Look under race results and go to results.
